Police Officer Benjamin De los Santos Barbosa Puerto Rico Police Department End of Watch: April 19, 2017 BFTF Representatives That Attended Funeral: Frank Ortiz PO 5570 3rd Precinct Susan Cataldo PO 5701 7th Precinct The following experience was shared with us by Frank. We could not have been treated any better today. We had a two motorcycle escort to the funeral home in the morning. We had an English-speaking Police Officer assigned to us the entire day who was a close friend to PO Barbosa. Everyone was beyond thankful for us being there, especially his squad that he worked with. We were also driven everywhere with a three-star Chief who insisted that we ride with him. Minutes after the family arrived, we were informed that they wanted to meet us. We were brought in and they all expressed what it meant to them that his sacrifice was felt as far away as New York. The family and his squad wanted us up front with them during all of the services for the remainder of the day. We were also informed that PO Barbosa joined the force 10 years ago to honor his sister who was also shot and killed while on duty. It was a sad day but we are glad that we got the opportunity to be here today. Thank you Frank and Sue for representing us so well.
